Is Swagbucks Legit? – Yes or No

I know what you’re thinking, can you truly trust a name with the word “swag” in it? Well from my experience, apparently you can. Swagbucks is indeed legit. I’ve been able to redeem multiple egiftcards from them, and I’ll show you how you can do the same!

  • Legit?: Yes

  • Money Making Potential: Extra Pocket Money (in form of gift cards)

How YOU Can Earn FREE Gift Cards

Swagbucks has many ways to earn points, or as they call them SB. One way, and probably my main way, is by completing online surveys. You won’t be able to complete every survey you start, because of eligibility reasons, but the ones you can and do will earn you roughly 50+ SB.

Another way to earn SB is by watching videos. On average, you get 1 SB for every 8 videos you watch. I don’t really find that this way is worth my time, but hey you can always have them play in the background.

You can also check out their Discover offers. Some of them will be to download and play certain apps. In my experience though with those, I find they don’t always reward me the SB. The Discover section will also have offers to sign up for things. Make sure to read fully what you have to do in order to earn, because a lot of them will want you to buy something. You may get lucky though and find some that are just signing up for an email newsletter.

This way isn’t necessarily free, depending on how you look at it, but they also have a shop section. If you shop through Swagbucks at other certain online retailers you can earn SB for purchases you make. So I mean if you were going to make those purchases anyway, it’s kind of like getting free SB as an extra bonus.

There’s also special bonuses based on your activity. Every day there’s a daily goal. Say if you earn 30 SB in one day, you get a bonus 3 SB. As well as at the end of each month, they’ll award you extra SB based on your completion of the daily goals.

What’s Available?

There are many different gift cards available. Probably the main two are Amazon and iTunes. I can personally vouch for the iTunes gift cards too, they work. Once I redeem my SB, they send out an email with a code to enter into my iTunes account. They don’t usually send the email out instantly though, from what I remember I think it took about a week.

  1. Hello Calista,

You wrote a very good post about Swagbucks. I haven’t tried it yet, but it does look like a great way to get paid for something I am already doing. I would not take time to do Swagbucks as an income stream though. Thanks for your honest review. You didn’t try to be too pushy. As a reader, that’s really appreciated.

    1. Hi Tiffany, glad to hear you enjoyed my post. Yes Swagbucks is definitely not an income stream type thing, more of just an extra bonus. Oh, I’m happy to hear that as well. I want my readers to feel comfortable, so that’s great. Thank you for your thoughts!
