What Is Checkout 51?
Checkout 51 is a grocery rebates type service. Meaning it offers cashback for buying certain products.
One thing that I love about Checkout 51 is that its offers are widely varied. You could earn cashback on anything from (brand-specific) crackers to pet food to toilet paper.
Plus often times they’ll have a couple generic offers. For example, one on my account right now is for $0.25 on jam. Any flavour, any brand, any size, just as long as it’s jam.
How Does It All Work?
Every Thursday there are new items uploaded to the app. Then you can either look at all the offers before shopping to plan, or afterwards if it doesn’t mean as much to you. You upload pictures of your receipt, and then the Checkout 51 team overviews it and, if approved, adds money to your account.
The offers vary based on how much the product is worth. Could be anywhere from $0.25 to even $10. Your account balance keeps carrying until you request a cheque. You’re not able to request a cheque until you at least hit $20 though.
It’s a very simple procedure. Basically all you do is go through the list of offers and select the plus mark beside every one you have or will have on your receipt. Then you can select upload receipt.
If you’re on your phone, the app will ask for access to your phone’s camera and then you can just take a photo of the receipt. Or if you’re on desktop, you’ll need to upload a photo of your receipt in some other way.
Why Should I Join?
You should join because it’s completely free to sign up! You don’t have to enter in any credit card info, so you know you can trust it. Plus almost everyone buys groceries!
And even if you don’t, I’m sure you know someone who does. Like for me, I borrow receipts from my parents sometimes to add them to my account.
Plus, if you sign up through my link you can earn an extra $5! After you submit your first receipt, you’ll receive an extra $2 and then for each receipt after that you’ll earn $1 each. Only up to a maximum of three times though, and they must be sent in within the first 30 days after signing up.
Have any questions or thoughts on what I discussed? Have you had experience with Checkout 51 yourself? I would to hear it all below!
